Rando - American Yacht Club Spring Series 2006

I raced the American Yacht Club's Spring Series on Peregrine, J-120. I got to be navigator / tactician. It's the first major regatta of the spring season (here in the northeast).

The weather was absolutely beautiful, sunny in the high 50's & low 60's. But the wind was light.

Saturday we got in one race. We managed a clean start, we kept our breeze clear, rounded the windward mark second behind perennial winners Bye Bye Blues (skippered by Bop Munro). We chased them down the course, then back up, couldn't catch them, but stayed ahead of everyone else (we had seven boats in our division).

We went to the lawn party in second place, feeling somewhat pleased with ourselves.
